Providing young people with an environment where they feel welcomed, heard, and safe is essential for fostering their confidence and sense of belonging. This is exactly what Maison des jeunes L’Exit offers to more than 350 adolescents aged 12 to 17 from Waterloo, Saint-Joachim-de-Shefford, Warden, and Shefford.
Dedicated staff are on hand to support youth in carrying out stimulating projects—such as skateboarding, cooking, music, and gardening workshops—as well as helping them navigate the challenges they face in daily life, providing guidance and encouragement every step of the way.

Every action taken early in a child’s life can have a lasting impact on their development and success. To help establish healthy eating habits, the Centre d’action bénévole du Bas-Richelieu offers the “Déjeuner-école du CAB” program, delivering breakfasts directly to the homes of elementary-aged children to ensure they have a complete meal before going to school. In 2024, 268 children benefited from this service.
In addition, thanks to the Centraide Operation Septembre program, the organization was able to support 218 families during the back-to-school period, providing school supplies, clothing, and backpacks, which significantly helped reduce the stress experienced by many parents at this time of year.
