As part of the annual School Perseverance Days, Centraide Richelieu‑Yamaska (R‑Y) is reaffirming its commitment to local youth by announcing two major investments for 2025–2026.
With a total of $315,450 dedicated to local initiatives, Centraide R‑Y is working to reduce the barriers faced by hundreds of young people in our community, giving them the tools they need to grow, learn, and succeed.
For too many families in our community, the start of the school year brings stress and worry. School supplies, clothing, and other education-related expenses create a significant burden, especially for those already struggling to make ends meet.
In fall 2025, thanks to a $180,000 investment, 2,138 children from vulnerable families across our 7 RCMs were able to start the school year with a smile, confident that they had everything they needed to succeed.
For these children, it’s more than a kit or a backpack: it’s support that helps them feel included in the classroom and reduces inequalities from the very first day of school.
In 2026, Centraide Richelieu‑Yamaska will invest $135,450 through its Youth Success Fund to support 12 local projects — including peer support and discussion groups, homework assistance, psychosocial, prevention, or creative workshops, as well as expanded services for young people in rural areas. Led by community agencies across our region, these initiatives aim to:
”Behind every act of generosity, there is a young person who feels less alone and a family that can breathe a little easier. The solidarity shown by our community truly changes life trajectories, and that is what drives us to keep pursuing our mission. Thank you to everyone who chooses to support our youth and believe in their potential. ”, says Caroline Lippé, Executive Director of Centraide Richelieu‑Yamaska.
Through strategic financial investments and strong local partnerships, Centraide continues to fulfill its mission of improving living conditions for vulnerable individuals. These actions help build communities where every child and every young person can look toward a brighter future.
