Centraide Richelieu-Yamaska (R-Y) is pleased to once again announce an investment of $180,000 as part of the Centraide Opération Septembre program for the 2026 back-to-school season. This flagship program aims to ease the financial burden of back-to-school by covering essential expenses such as school supplies and clothing, allowing every child to start the school year in the best possible conditions.
Registration to benefit from the Centraide Operation September program is now open. If you are a family in need, or know one, we invite you to contact one of the 15 participating agencies directly in the Richelieu-Yamaska territory. Each agency sets its own eligibility criteria and determines the list of items or services covered. The partner agencies for the 2026 back-to-school season are as follows:

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and the mobilization of our partners, 2,138 children benefited from this program in 2025, across all 7 of our RCMs. This support represents far more than school supplies: it is a source of comfort, dignity, and equality for hundreds of families facing precarity.
Launched in 1992, Centraide Operation September has distributed $4,049,852 to more than 37,000 families in our territory, reaching nearly 64,000 children. Year after year, the program reflects our commitment to taking concrete action for school success, social justice, and the well-being of children in our community.
